When a Fast becomes a Feast

I joined a Holy Mass today because it's a first Friday for the month of September. The theme was amazing and made me reflect with my own life. The officiating priest was also very good and well-verse in delivering his sermon.

Manifestation of a Fast Made Into a Feast....

1. Celebrate Life. Live the present and be happy about it. Don't dwell on the past pains, hurts and frustration nor worry about the future because you'll miss to live fully in the present.
2. Count your blessings. Always count your blessings and focus on the positive things in life.
2. Choose to be cheerful. In every situation that we are in, we should choose to be cheerful. There might be problems that we encounter but we can choose to be happy and be cheerful in spite of the circumstances that we are in, if we have Jesus with us.

Roland Mendoza Hostaged HongKong Tourists

What a fateful day for the HongKong tourists whose purpose was to enjoy tourists destinations in the Philippines turned out to be a tragic visit.

I was watching the hostage drama on television while we were having our dinner. The hostage drama lasted very long-12 hours, and when negotiations failed, police officers had to enter the tourist bus using force and assault the hostage taker, Mr. Roland Mendoza, former police inspector who was dismissed from his job due to extortion and wanted his job back.

I pity the victims of the hostage. Mendoza's life is not enough in exchange of the 4 confirmed fatalities in that hostage crisis. They are innocent and should have not been involved in that crisis in the first place.

She Saved Me !

I admit I tend to be judgmental at times. I tend to gauge the person depending on his/her personality, the way he/she looks looks and the way he/she acts.

There's this lady who looks arrogant and snobbish because she's the kind who seemed indifferent and unmindful about the people around her. Until one day, I need to coordinate with her for some important matters. As I know her more, I realized my misconceptions with her.

One day, she saved me from a possible disaster at work. There's a conflict of my orientation schedule with a training in the other department and she's the only one who has the projector available. To my pleasant surprise, she lend me the projector right there and then when I needed it. From now on, my prejudices with her have changed. She's indeed a good person no matter how arrogant or snobbish she appear to be. Lesson learned? Never judge a person whom you don't personally know or encounter yet.
